چکیده

Abstract Background This study was conducted to investigate life table characteristics of the parasitoid species, Goniozus legneri Gordh (Hymenoptera: Bethylidae), a major gregarious larval ecto-parasitoids carob moth, Ectomyelois ceratoniae Zeller (Lep.: Pyralidae). Demographic parameters G. reared on two hosts, moth and flour Ephestia kuehniella (Zeller) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), were studied under laboratory conditions using age-stage, two-sex table. Host stage preference functional response this also determined. Results The duration immature period, adult pre-ovipositional period total E. significantly longer than that those , while fecundity ovipositional days wasp greater/longer in females . There significant differences intrinsic finite rates increase mean generation time between hosts. Moreover, population projection indicated can grow swifter when Based experiments determine preferences for both larger larvae more preferred stages compared smaller ones, thereby fulfilling optimal oviposition theory. responses different densities last instar determined as type III at 25 °C 60% RH. Conclusion results offer valuable information some history attributes Although performed better kuehniella, use main host rearing might be laborious process production costs, used an alternative host. Further studies are required greenhouse field effective biocontrol agent against moth.

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Wolbachia in two insect host-parasitoid communities.

Wolbachia form a group of intracellular bacteria that alter reproduction in their arthropod hosts. Two major phylogenetic subdivisions (A and B) of Wolbachia occur. Using a polymerase chain reaction assay we surveyed for the A and B group Wolbachia in 82 insect species from two temperate host-parasitoid communities (food webs) and a general collection of Lepidoptera caught at a light trap. One ...

Response of insect parasitism to elevation depends on host and parasitoid life-history strategies.

How global warming will affect insect parasitoids and their role as natural enemies of insect pests is difficult to assess within a short period of time. Considering that elevation gradients can be used as analogues for global warming, we carried out meta-analyses of 27 correlations between parasitoid richness and elevation and 140 correlations between parasitism rate and elevation in natural a...
